Sherry Aggarwal Gupta Indian Meet Up Group, a group of young Indian expatriates in Doha, entered into 2017 with an act of charity. Group Founder Ankit Aggarwal thought of a ‘Charity trip to a labour camp’ on January 1, to mark the New Year. The group has around 100 active members, out of which 43 contributed a QR3,900 to be given as donation to a labour camp in Doha. The group led by Aggarwal bought things of daily use such as detergent packets, soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, razor, fresh fruit, biscuits, chocolates and milk to distribute amongst the labourers at the camp on New Year. "We prepared 100 packets of items of daily use, besides rice and clothes. We also took a cake with us to celebrate New Year at the Labour camp,” said Aggarwal. “We could not start off our year better than this. October is known as breast cancer awareness month worldwide, and healthcare officials, cancer survivors , and various brands spend this time educating people about early detection and treatment of breast cancer. Hello, On 9th August, we registered ourselves on eventbrite for Dohatweetup's BookSwap event at Nando's. Nando's lately launched its new outlet in Hyatt plaza in collaboration with DohaTweetups to mark National Book Lovers day. The event was about food and books. More about food and less about books. Today I attended art therapy session organised by a very known group in Doha for expat women 'Qatar expat women a positive support group' . The session was taken by an Indian artist Savita J Jhakar. The venue was a decent hotel Warwick. I was just on time and expected the event to be full of knowledge about art therapy and how can we really apply it in our lives.  But, I was disappointed because she just asked us to draw a portrait of ourselves and then she collected the art sheets and spread over the floor. Then everybody saw what all; everybody has drawn and how has everybody explained their personality. And that's it... Then she said , "thank you and everyone can be an artist." Well, I did not come for that... But anyways Qatar Expat women group's larger goal is to bring expat women together.
