Mediterranean Tabbouleh salad- recipe from a Lebanon kitchen shared by dear friend Fatima
Hello dear cooking lovers!
I met Fatima, who is a dear friend of mine , during Qatar Expat Women Meet at Hilton. Fatima told me about tabbouleh salad and shared her mom's recipe with me. Trust me it was different from Youtube recipes as she told me one trick to make salad that You tube never tells and definitely salad came out to be very tasty and healthy. So here comes a recipe from Lebanon Kitchen with the secret trick.
Ingredients
Parsley: 1 Bunch dry and finely chopped
Tomatoes: 2 finely chopped
Spring onion- 1 finely chopped
Burgul/ Cracked wheat - 1/2 small cup
Lemon juice- 1 lemon
Olive oil
Cinnamon
Salt
Black pepper
Let's cook :)
Wash burgul with drinking water twice or thrice and put in a bowl.
Add spring onions into the bowl.
Add pinch of salt, cinnamon and black pepper. Mix everything together.
Add tomatoes and lemon into the bowl
Now comes the trick
Let burgul soak water from tomatoes and lemon. Rest aside your mixture for 15 minutes until burgul soaks in water from tomatoes and lemon juice.
(In youtube videos, you are asked to soak burgul into water and then add to the salad bowl).
Add parsley and olive oil into the bowl. Again mix everything together.
Serve the salad with Garlic bread or Lettuce leaves.
